Here’s what readers are saying about
The Grapefruit Dish
“It’s lovely, well written, beautifully illustrated, and most of all very thoughtful. After a busy fall day, canning tomatoes in the morning and enjoying the fall colors in the afternoon, I needed to sit down and be nurtured, and your book did the trick.” (Susan Gilpin)
“Like a warm mug of cocoa for the soul.”

“Your book will be a perfect Christmas gift for my sister.” (M. Smith)
“I enjoy giving books to the special people in my life and I’d like to give your new book The Grapefruit Dish to my daughter Katharine, who’s a huge fan of everything Christmas. So I’m going to order a copy.’
“Every fall the bookstores fill shelves and display tables with books about Christmas. Many seem built around the theme of creating memorable “perfect” Christmases….The Grapefruit Dish takes a different approach. Nancy learned that perfect Christmases do not exist. Rather, family practices and traditions grow out of family members’ commitments to one another...Weaving these kinds of things together in a warm and playful way makes the point that there is no single way to be a keeper of Christmas. Rather, making the events and customs of Christmas unfold in imperfect moments gives space for family members to grow in understanding.” (Howard MacMullen)
I really enjoyed this book. I live in the southwest. It’s a challenge to find the uplifting energy of the holiday season. Nancy Foran’s book not only gets me in the spirit but puts a different swing on the season. She has written a wonderful book reminding you that …sometimes the imperfect moments are the ones that you remember and bring you the most joy…If you have trouble (or even if you don’t) getting into the holidays, Nancy’s book will help get you into the Christmas spirit. You’ll find yourself thinking of prior Christmas years with some laughter, some sighs and maybe some tears. Her recollections and questions will remind you: When things get tough this holiday, take a breath and find the beauty in the imperfection.(Susan Murphy)
